Statement of intent- Website 

I want to create a website that shows synergy between my video and the online pages for my artist. I will do this through creating a colour scheme on my website that I can easily attach to my video at the end. I created a soft coloured background including hand drawn images that relate to the music video, therefore creating synergy. This style of background was inspired by Alessia Cara’s website where she also has small hand drawn images on a soft mustard coloured background. I incorporated my background that I created into the end of my music video where I could clearly outline the music company production as well as an obvious link to my artist’s website. The choice of incorporating ideas from Alessia Cara’s website helped me create synergy between both my video and my website. On my home page my artists new song ‘Nintendo Game’ appears in order to promote the song. I have taken ideas from the artists Liam Payne’s website and incorporated them into my own. Liam Payne uses a sliding animation of titles of his website and found that this idea could work really well with my own website. The colour scheme on the first page is bright green paired with a darker green. This contrast helps my titles and items on my home page stand out and highlights the element of pop music. This colour scheme is also linked to the flashing image of my artist’s single when the website is opened, therefore creating synergy. I created a further two videos after my music video which consisted of behind the scenes and a promotional video for the music video. I created these additional audio-visual content as I felt it was a clever way to introduce my artist and outline the genre of music.

In my second page I used a different colour scheme as I wanted to create more synergy between my video and website. My new colour scheme for the colour scheme was red as I felt it clearly linked to my artists red dress that was worn in the music video. I used Liam Payne’s title ideas throughout the second page and introduced tour dates, an about the artist section, and merch for the artist which I created. Through incorporating my red colour scheme, I created a red Nintendo and put my promo video in the top screen of the Nintendo which played on the loading of the page. In the bottom screen of the Nintendo I used this to display my merch for the artist. This incorporation of the Nintendo allowed synergy between my music video and the website to clearly be displayed. In the header I continued to create synergy between my video and website through the use of a Nintendo game font, as I felt this kept the whole concept together. 

How do you intend to link your media products to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the digitally convergent nature of your media production? 

My website, music video and additional audio-visual content that I created are clear examples of digitally convergent media. Evidence of this includes the synergy that I created through use of bright colours to create an energetic feel. I used saturated green, red and blue colour schemes to outline the energetic feel and presentation in both the song and music video. This use of high levels of energy conveyed in my digitally convergent media attracts and aims at my target audience of mainstream pop. My saturated colours present synergy between all media products that I created. Colours also helped me outline my intertextual references of Lily Allen and Oh Wonder who also incorporated brightly saturated videos.
